This problem is very common in children and babies. It can also occur in teenagers and adults.
The cause of the condition is fairly simple and the same in an adult as it is in a baby.
How to treat the condition is quite simple but as with most of them the choice must suit the
severity and person to whom it is for.
Seborrheic Dermaitis is a condition where the scalp reacts to excess sebum secretions. The yeast in the sebum causes extra fatty acids that the skin reacts to. When this occurs the skin "sheds" trying to eliminate the allergen.
Hormonal changes combined with a genetic predisposition will cause this condition to occur.
The aim of treatment is to reduce the excess secretions and remove the scale on the scalp. This is done through a specific cream designed for the condition(not a psoriasis cream).
A full consultation even if it is a baby is essential.
Never assume what it is until you have the problem diagnosed properly.
