Alopecia Areata

The term alopecia is very misunderstood, it means "baldness".Below a few of the more common ones are explained. - Alopecia areata
- is a genetically linked condition. This condition can flair up any time
at any age.
It is shown as bald spots on the scalp.This can occur quite suddenly and without much warning.
Stress can aggrevate the condition. A stress can be any change to yourself,internal or external (i.e physical, mental, nutritional changes)
Allergic reactions to various things either internally or externally can also activate the condition.
Trauma, viral and bacterial infections are another couple of triggers.
- Alopecia totalis
- is total loss of hair from the entire head from the neck up.
- Alopecia universalis
- is total loss of hair from the entire body.
These conditions can be treated and regrowth encouraged through both
medical and/or natural options.
- Scarring alopecia(cicatricial alopecia)
- can happen and the cause may be physical, chemical,or by a cause unknown with some types.
It is important to stop the advancement of these conditions as soon as possible with appropriate treatment.
Androgenetic Alopecia is the technical term for genetic thinning.
There is the male and female genetic thinning.
Traction Alopecia is another seperate condition that
can lead to either breakage of the hair, or scarring if it occurs continually.
